Today I riveted the nutplates onto the tiedown brackets. Here they are ready to be bolted to the spars.

After the brackets were bolted on, I bolted the aileron bellcrank brackets to the nutplates through the spar webs.

UPDATE 8/29/2002: Don't bolt the bellcrank brackets on yet! I don't remember why I did it at this point, whether it was in the instructions or not, but don't do it. Later you'll realize that to get the long AN4 bolt through the bellcrank you'll need to have at least the top bracket off the spar. Otherwise the top spar flange and wing skin will prevent you from getting that bolt in there. So don't bother bolting these suckers on yet!

I went through the rigor of alumiprep and alodine with the rear spars. Here they are drying before being primed.

And here they are after being primed.

All I have left to do with the spars is to spot-prime the front spar countersinks and rivet together the rear spar components. I'm going away for the weekend, so that stuff will probably happen Sunday night or Monday.
